Lillemor Mannerheim was born in Helsinki, Finland’s capital. She studied at Higher Art Industry School in Stockholm from 1945-49. During her free time over the summer months, she further developed her skills at the Arabia Porcelain Factory in Helsinki. From 1950-1952, Mannerheim trained in sculptural technique at the Académi de la Grande Chaumiére in Paris. In 1952,
Mannerheim returned to Sweden, taking a position at the Gefle Porcelain Factory on the country’s east coast. During the 1950s, she designed era-typical tableware, figurines, and sculptures. Mannerheim is represented at numerous museums in Sweden and Finland.
