JUST IN: NORTHWESTERN TERRA COTTA COMPANY DESIGNED CERAMIC BASE FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PROGRESS CLUB (CHICAGO)

Northwestern Terra Cotta company designed ceramic base made for the Chicago Progress Club as a souvenir of their 5th anniversary. Some wear to the high points of the design. Glass ball is not original  and the pottery is about 7 ¾” tall. Price: $1,250

The design is similar to a Ferdinand Moreau large lamp pedestal for a Fritz Albert lamp also designed by Northwestern Terra Cotta (NORWETA) circa 1920.  See: Darling, Sharon S., ''Chicago Ceramics and Glass: An Illustrated History from 1871 to 1933,'' Chicago: Chicago Historical Society, 1979, p. 72.
